Our Story

A cord of three strands
is not quickly broken.

– Ecclesiastes 4:12

The First Meeting

Kerisa was the cute blonde sitting near the front of the church. Steven was the newcomer and a little shy but she caught his eye.

They started talking and hit it off. Steven wanted to get to know Kerisa better, but Kerisa played coy. She said, “If you want to ask me out, you have to get permission from my dad.”

Over the many Sundays, they continued to chat until one Sunday Steven decided to talk to Kerisa’s dad.

And that’s when the love story began…

The Proposal

It was a sunny July 4th and an ideal day to do something they both enjoyed: hiking, kayaking and a little fishing. Steven thought to himself, “Today might be a good day to pop the question.” He slipped the ring and box in his pocket.

After spending the morning kayaking, they journeyed to a favorite fishing spot which just happened to be the exact location where they had first kissed.

Kerisa was preparing the fishing rods with her head hovering over the open the tackle box and mumbling to herself. She failed to notice that Steven wasn’t next to her. Instead, he had dropped to one knee and opened the box containing the ring.

Kerisa turned around to find Steven ready to propose. He said the words, “Will you marry me?”

Of course Kerisa said, “Yes!”
